The new Direct Access Leg Ulcer Clinical Assessment Services at York and Malton Hospitals are now open.
These services are for patients who present with a new lower limb ulceration within 2-16 weeks from advent.

Referral Criteria/Information
Specification for Direct Access Leg Ulcer Clinical Assessment Service
Age: 16yrs and over
Conditions Treated: New lower limb ulceration (within 2-16 weeks from advent), not including foot or malleolar ulceration Please specify on the referral the date of onset and the site of the new leg ulcer. Include relevant history of previous ulceration and lower limb vascular intervention
Procedures Performed: Vascular clinical assessment Duplex ultrasound
Exclusions: Patients under 16
GPs are asked to please specify the date of onset and the site of the new leg ulcer, including relevant history of previous ulceration and lower limb vascular intervention on the referral.
Please note that due to clinic capacity, patients may be asked to attend York or Malton Hospital for their appointment.
